Hello all :)
I hope that you are having a great weekend!
We have one more week of hard work on the play and then we will be back to normal timetable! This week we are rounding off our work on money in maths. Counting how much money we have and selecting coins to make an amount. In English, we have our own targets to do a little writing about how bees make honey. We are also working on our written comprehension skills. In phonics, Mrs Thomson's group is working on different pronounciations of 'u' and 'ie'. Mrs Coxhead's group is working on ph, wh, au and oe.
Couple of notes about The Bee Musical:
- Thank you for your support with costumes and learning lines so far.
- Please remember to bring costumes to school in named bag. If there are any bits that you don't have at home, please let us know as soon as possible so we have time to get them.
- This week homework is to work hard on our lines so that we are confident with our words. Remember to have a listen to the songs, too!
I look forward to seeing you next week.
Many thanks,
Mrs Coxhead

Hello all :)
I hope that you are enjoying your weekend!
This week, our main focus is The Bee Musical - learning our lines, knowing when to be on and off stage, learning our songs and actions! In English, we are reading The Enormous Turnip and using joining words. In maths, we are using our knowledge of counting in steps to count money. In phonics, Mrs Coxhead's group is learning ue, aw, ew, wh and ph. Mrs Thomson's group is learning alternative pronounciations for C and G.
Also, Linda sent out a Parentmail earlier in the week about projects, sorry that this doesn't give you lots of time to think about/prepare a project. I had completely forgotten about projects! As email states, the theme is plants and growth. If you are stuck for ideas, let me know or sometimes parents with older children in the school have a good ideas from past projects.
Thank you for your support with The Bee Musical. Please get in touch if you have any questions!
Many thanks,
Mrs Coxhead

Continents, Celebration Assembly and Words, by Miss Adamson
Date: 24th Nov 2017 @ 4:45pm
Hello :)
I hope you've had a lovely week!
We had a watch of a quick video about the names of the seven continents this afternoon.
Also, we coloured baubles to go on the Christmas tree at Booths - keep an eye out for them.
A handful of children have a few words to learn for celebration assembly on Monday afternoon. I hope it's not too onerous! Some children were a little dissapointed that they didn't have any words. However, we will begin practising for our production with Reception soon and many more children will have speaking parts. We will try to ensure all children who want to speak will get an opportunity at some point throughout the year.
Most children have been bringing their words (piece of paper in poly pocket) to school for reading/spelling check on Friday morning. Please could these come to school in blue book bags on Fridays. Sorry that wasn't clear.
Last thing, if you have made a recycled Christmas tree decoration, please bring it in for Thursday 30th November - St Andrew's Day!
Have a lovely weekend!
Miss Adamson
