Date: 21st Oct 2022 @ 2:19pm
On Monday we did Science and designed lots of brilliant boats. We were working on forces and water resistance. On Tuesday we had a science assembly that the science ambassadors led. They showed us excellent, exciting experiments. On Thursday a famous poet called Paul Cookson came in and held a whole school assembly. He told us hilarious poems that we could join in with, although afterwards he came round each classroom and we accidentally recreated one of his poems. He told us that out of mum’s,dad’s,grandpa's and grandma’s hats, that 90% of people would think that grandma’s hat sounded the funniest. On Friday we did drama and created marvellous masterpieces about the dracula spectacular show.In art we spent an hour doing halloween themed decorative pumpkins. After lunch, we played two intense cricket matches, the blue team against the red team and the yellow team against the green team. At the end of the day, we did Brush Ninja digital citizenship in computing.

What a fantastic day! The Elephants went on parade to meet the Elephants.
The children thoroughly enjoyed their trip, we had lots of discussions about the classification of animals, where in the world their natural habitat was and we had a good laugh as well.
The seagulls were the stars of the day, swooping down to steal our lunch. Mrs Catterall hid under the table.

Primary Engineer, by Mrs Catterall
Date: 21st Jun 2022 @ 9:19pm
During our half term holidays 3 children went along to Preston College to take part in the Primary Engineer Celebration event for our area.
We took along some of the moving vehicles we had made. During the day we had to explain how we made them, the materials we used, the research we had done and our design ideas to a panel of engineers from Baxi.
We had to put our vehicle through a series of tests, moving backwards and forwards in a straight line over 3metres and it had to go up a ramp - every time we managed it, the ramp got steeper and we had to try again.
There were several schools there and our vehicles were judged on a number of criteria.
Did we win? YES. Our vehicle came first in the Engineer level 1 competition and a member of our team also won best communicator out of everyone at the event.
The Elephant engineers were truly amazing and shone brightly.

Arts week day 1, by Mrs Catterall
Date: 23rd May 2022 @ 6:42pm
Today we began your Arts week. This is a fantastic week where we can be creative and let our many talents shine brightly.
The focus this week is on the Queens Platinum Jubilee. We spent the morning exploring different ways of creating a stamp using different techniques. Some children chose collage, watercolours, acrylic, pencil crayons, felt tips and highlighters to create a pop art effect.
We also thought of some designs to create a commemorative coaster.
Thankyou to my 3 photographers for the photos.
