Another busy week, by Mrs McLennan

Date: 7th Dec 2018 @ 4:35pm

We have been continuing to work hard this week. We’ve written letters imagining that we were soldiers in the trenches. We used our history skills to find out lots of information and discovered if it was primary or secondary evidence. We used this knowledge to add detail in our letters. Yesterday we had a visit to the library and listened to Tom read some Christmas stories- they made us laugh out loud. We’ve also been busy learning about fractions.

Tribe news, by Mrs McLennan

Date: 29th Nov 2018 @ 4:29pm

Well, we are all extremely proud after being awarded ‘Tribe of the term’ at this afternoon’s celebration assembly. It was very well deserved because we have been noticed for our excellent attitude to learning. Well done also to everyone that received a certificate. We still have lots more learning to do this term and here’s hoping that compliments keep heading our way.

So far this week..., by Mrs McLennan

Date: 21st Nov 2018 @ 4:32pm

We have found out this week that most children in the school travel to school by car. We went in groups to each class to find out this information and recorded our findings in a table. We have also used our geography skills to pinpoint the capital cities of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland on to a map. In English, we are on to our second book by Hilary Robinson, ‘Peace Lily.’

In guided reading this morning we were searching for new vocabulary and trying to work out the meaning of the word using the text and the root of the word. We have decided to use some of these new words in our writing next week. Some of us were reading for pleasure.

Have a good weekend and try and find some time to read for pleasure.
