Off to Space
This week, the Kangaroos have started their journey to space. On Tuesday we looked at our solar system and the distance each planet is from the sun. We worked on a 1:100 000 000 000 scale. We managed in the photo to measure as far as Uranus so there was still a long way to go to get to Neptune. Mr Monckton told us that the nearest star from our sun on the playground using the scale we were using would have been someone stood in Portsmouth. This is because the closest star that we can see in the sky is 40 000 000 000 000 km away!
On Thursday we also looked at the life of an Astronaut. The European Space Agency (ESA) is a group of 17 European countries of which we are one, Tim Peake works for ESA and he is now in the International Space Station on behalf of ESA conducting al those amazing experiments.
We can't wait to find out more!
