Reading At Home Support
After speaking with a few parents - I have had multiple requests for advice on how you can further support your child's reading at home.
In response to this, I thought it might be useful for parents to have access to the reading domains. The reading domains highlight the elements of the national curriculum that will be assessed as part of the English reading test in the KS2 SATs. The reading domains of KS2 include; author choice, vocabulary, compare, contrast and comment, retrieval, inference, summary and prediction.
I have broken the domains into key question stems that could/should be asked. The questions will support your child in gaining a deeper understanding and comprehension of a text.
