Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is funding in addition to the school’s budget.  Schools are free to decide how to allocate this funding to best support the raising of attainment for the most vulnerable pupils.  In 2013/14 the school received £16.500 in Pupil Premium allocations.

In 2011/12 the pupil premium was and will be used in a variety of ways.  These included:

  • Creating a purposeful  learning environment for Intervention groups with additional resources to meet need.
  • Employing an Intervention Manager to organise intervention and track progress and success of each intervention.

In 2012/13 the pupil premium will be used in a variety of ways. These include:

  • Additional TA support to deliver personalised intervention programmes.
  • Provision of nurture groups.
  • Purchase of three touch screen computers.
  • TA specific training.

In 2013/14 the pupil premium will be used in a variety of ways. These include:

  • Additional TA support to deliver personalised intervention programmes.
  • Provision of nurture groups.
  • Employment of a Private Educational Psychologist – 12 days per year.
  • Employment of a councillor.
  • TA specific training.

The impact of Pupil Premium:

The learning environment with relevant resources opened in September 2012.

We have developed a provision map for all identified pupils.  Pre-test’s have been conducted and intervention sessions have started via skilled Teaching Assistants.

Class observations for identified children are underway.  With supportive feedback provided to the teacher.

The gap between attainment/progress of identified pupils and their peers has reduced.

Future plans:

It is hoped funding will continue to enable the interventions to be sustained and for external specialist teacher support to be procured.
