A new half term

The Hippos have arrived back in school,refreshed and ready for more learning and excellent work. This week has flown by.

Great fun has been had using Roald Dahl's story The Twits in our Literacy lessons this week and we especially enjoyed sharing it with the visitors who came along to reading afternoon on Wednesday.

Science this week was very WET. The children were investigating whether papertowel can be used to make a water container- the testing brought about lots of laughter and great scientific understanding of how the properties of materials suit their purpose.

Friday was another excellent day as the children all dressed up for Remembrane Day. I was very impressed with the writing they did on Friday morning when I asked them to write from the view point of a poppy. In fact I was so impressed that 4 children: Maisie, Emma, Matthew and Grace all received a gold star from Mr Pearson for their work.

Well done Hippos it has been a great first week back.
