Amazing Day at Priory!

Today, we have been fortunate enough to spend the day at Penwortham Priory Academy.

The Kangaroos have had a great time experiencing life at high school. We started the day speaking to Luke, Dean and Olivia who were from the Meerkats and had started Priory in September. They were really helpful in answering all the burning questions that we had about high school, especially buying our lunch with our fingerprint. Unfortunately, they had to return to class. We then had an amazind technology lesson. We looked at ergonomics in relation to handles on forks and spoons. We had to sketch our new designs in 1 minute, then 2 minutes and finally 3 minutes. Then as a group we looked at making our new handle using polymorph.

It was then time for a break and they even brought us some toast!. It was then onto ICT and we looked at making a powerpoint website. It was very interesting seeing what we had all chosen to do our powerpoint on. Just before lunch which was at 1.00! We went to the gym and took part in an amazing trampolining routine. We then practiced lots of different skills like seat drops and swival hips before taking part in our 10 bounce routine.

It was lunch time and we were provided with an amazing lunch before going out to play on the gurney. After lunch it was time to head to the science laboratories for an action packed science lesson. Daniel was chosen to drink from 3 beakers, one had an acid in it, one had an alkaline in it and the other one had water in it. This was the topic of our whole lesson and we tested lots of everyday liquids to see what was an acid, alkaline or neutral. It was really interesting to see whether the liquids were acid or alkaline.
