Giraffes can can can

This week the giraffes have shown that they can work hard, take on challenges and learn new skills. In English we have been looking at non fiction texts, c as an s sound in words and we have done lots on full stops , capital letters and adjectives.handwriting has also been a focus and lots of the children are getting good at joining their letters in a beautiful cursive style.

In maths we have moved on to subtraction.First by counting back on number lines and then by counting on to find the difference. Today we solved word problems in our Fun Friday books. The task was challenging as the children had to choose whether to add or subtract, show their working out and finally write a full answer.

Hockey was great fun on Tuesday and the class are becoming good at tackling and passing when playing small sided games.

The class had their last gymnastics session yesterday with the visiting coach and they have learnt lots of skills over the last five weeks.

Well done to all the readers who read their Green poems at the the Harvest service yesterday.

Have a great weekend.
