Sigurd the Saxon Farmer

Sigurd comes across a boat and sees a house being built on his land. Let's everybody know the Vikings are here by lighting a beacon which sets off a beacon chain. The beacons were the signal that the Vikings are here. Sigurd raised the feared which was a part time army.  He armed himself with an axe and metal armour, made from 14000 linked rings of steel. He put on his helmet . From this tale we learnt about how weapons were used and the reason why there were no horns on the helmets.
