Welcome Back

Welcome back and welcome to Key Stage 2. The children have made a good start with the new routines in Key Stage 2. They have been coming in really well in the morning and getting on with their morning tasks. I have also been very impressed with how they have taken responsibility for ordering and paying for their own toast. The change in the time of lunch has resulted in a few grumbles about being hungry at 12 o'clock but thy will soon get used to that extra fifteen minutes of learning.

Our topic this term is based around the theme of friendship and individuality. We are thinking a lot about playing nicely, being supportive and understanding that it is okay to be an individual.

This week we have thought about the strengths and weaknesses of the tribe and set the target of working together to become an outstanding tribe in our behaviour and learning.

The children had great fun during science this week where they had to stick labels on some of their major organs.

Another highlight of the week was the session we had with Nippon UK doing martial arts. The children were great and Sensai complimented the class on their excellent behaviour and listening skills. Well done Kangaroos.

On Friday afternoon the children decorated a box which will stay in school this year. It is a memory box which they can fill with little reminders of things they do in school and at home this year.
