Week beginning the 9th October

Date: 8th Oct 2017 @ 6:10pm

I am away on a course all day on Thurday and Friday - so I will be teaching all day Monday & Tuesday, instead of having Mrs Fletcher in those afternoons. Then someone else will be covering me on Thursday and Friday.  It also means that I'll be sending homework home on Wednesday instead of Thursday and, as always, I'll put up a Maths spicy challenge on the website. If you need it printing out for you, just ask Mrs Woolley reaaaaaallly nicely and I'm sure she'd be happy to do it for you. 

I'm really looking forward to seeing all of you at 'Parents Evening' this Monday and Wednesday and discussing how your children are settling into year 5 - See you then!

This week will look like this:

English: Writing persuasive letters

GPS: Revisiting adverbials

Maths: Geometry - Perimeter of rectilinear shapes (for a bit of spicy maths fun - try this little game at home! Don't worry about the area stuff yet, but the perimeter will definitely come in handy!)

Geography: Map reading/Orienteering

Computing: Research using search engines and considering relevance of websites 

PSHE: Jigsaw - British Values

French: Making visual vocabulary lists

PE: No gymnastics this week because the hall will be filled with our projects for parents evening. So, on Monday, we will be going outside and playing some sporty halloween themed games!  Friday cricket will still be on.

If you have any artefacts/special skills/holiday pics etc. that would help us with our learning - please feel free to volunteer them! We would love to have some visitors to our class this year and learning always works best when it is contextualised!
