Crocodiles Trip 6th December 2012

Dear Parents,

As part of our Topic on Preston in the past, I have arranged for us to go on Thursday 6thDecember 2012 to the Harris Museum and Preston Docks to find out about the past. At the Harris Museum, the children will be looking at a Preston census, finding out facts about the past through old documents. Using the Cotton Mills, the Crocodiles will investigate working conditions in Victorian Preston and compare and contrast those jobs with those of the Dockworkers.

We will then travel to Preston to spot clues to the past, find out about the construction of the Docks, its uses past and present and the working of the swing bridge from the harbour master.

We will set off at 9.00 and return by 3.15. Packed lunches will be taken with us and eaten in the Museum education room. Please ensure that packed lunches are in disposable bags. Pupils who normally have a school packed lunch will have one provided.

I know the pupils will benefit from the day as it will bring together all their learning about our local history. To pay for transport and the workshop, I would ask that parents sign the form below and send  £6.50 before Monday 3rdDecember 2012 in a named envelope to the school office.

Thank you for your support.
