Hippo Roman Adventure

We have been very busy today. We set off spot on time and arrived in Ribchester we a keen vibe to learn. The morning session proved to be interesting and we all tried on one or two Roman outfits. We discovered the Romans had a steam room and even had under floor heating!!!! They also had warehouses for storage.

We ate our lunch in the village hall and then played a few fun games before heading off to Aidan McKerneys Cousins farm. The farm was wonderful. We looked at the calves and then went into the milking sheds. Unlike in Roman times they have laser robots which clean the cows, feed them and milk them. The cows even had machines that massaged them. Awesome!!!

We then had time to play on the play park – but only because it was a Roman fort.

Did you know that there was a Roman Fort in Ribchester for 500 men!

We give a huge thanks to Aidans family for helping out and arranging the use of the village hall and our visit to the farm.  They also became our guide around the village - thank you we could not have done it without them.
