Harvest Service
This years Harvest service is on Tuesday 23rd October at 9.15 in St Andrews Church. All are welcome. The theme for this year is Fairtrade.
We are asking for cash donations for the Fairtrade foundation. Children will not need to bring anything on the day but each child will have an envelope to take home after the service that they can then return to school containing their donation.
The Fairtrade team will speak at the service to explain what Fairtrade is.

Seal and PHSE
At Longton Primary School we are committed to Social, Moral, Emotional and Cultural learning. Through Seal and Phse, we provide positive experiences for children which will enable them to develop, build on and stretch skills in areas to promote :
Imagination and creativity to reflect on their experiences,
To develop an understanding of right and wrong both in and out of school settings.
To take part in a range of activities requiring social skills
To gain an understanding of options and challenges that they may face through school.
To develop skills and attitudes that will enable them to participate fully and positively in the future lives.
To understand and appreciate a range of different cultures and how equality can be promoted.
Many of these activities will be experienced within the classroom , through planned lessons, circle times or role play opportunities. However, some children may be part of sessions run outside their usual classroom to provide enhanced or tailored opportunities for them to develop their understanding and skills. It is very likely that all children at some point in their time at Longton Primary will benefit from these more personalised programmes. We are proud of the opportunities that we offer and hope that you agree that developing the ‘whole’ child is vital in today’s ever changing world.
