Special visitor at Longton

Longton Primary school had a very special visitor today while we were practicing our harvest songs. Bishop Phillip (the Bishop of Burnley) visited our school and we were very proud to welcome him along with Rev. Andrew.

Some children prepared questions. Bishop Phillip explained to school the role of a Bishop.

Oliver (Y2) asked for his hobbies - cycling especially long distances. Climbing mountains and football.

Sammy (Y3) asked what he had wanted to do when he was a child - wanted to be a farmer or cricketer or prime minister. As a Christian he felt Gods plan was to become a priest.

Jake (Y5) asked about the best thing about his job - visiting schools and helping others.

Erin (Y6) asked how many parishes he has - approx 240 parishes.

He was also asked about his typical day - he has no typical day. However, he is often spending time with people!
