The Eclipse

What an exciting day we have had today: between 9 am and 9:45 this morning we went outside with our homemade viewing  glasses and two paper plates to watch the Eclipse, unfortunately it was very cloudy and we were unable to see anything using our plates, a very kind parent sent in 5 pairs of viewing glasses and we took turns having a go with them; making sure we did not look directly at the sun. About half the class managed to see what they described as the "moon", where the moon almost covered the sun; before the clouds blocked our view.  We all went into the Giraffes class to watch the television coverage on the whiteboard. Then putting our coats on we returned to the playground to see how dark and cold it had become. What a fantastic experience we have all had.
