Monday of Arts week.

Arts week has started with an assembly by Keith Parkinson. Keith spoke to the children about his work as an artist and showed the children some of his paintings, telling them the techniques he had used to create them.

Mrs Bates came into school to share her joy of music with us. Mrs Bates played the flute and the recorder, pointing out some of the differences between them like the sound they make, how you hold them and what they are made of. Mrs Bates played lots of different pieces of music but I think the class favourites were the theme tune to "Wallace and Gromit" and pieces from "Frozen."

We the visited the music room to discover our teacher Mrs Barker not only teaches the Bongo tribe but she can play the drums and wow can she play!

Just before lunch we had a visit from some year 10 pupils from Priory who had come to teach us some drama. The class split into 5 groups and each acted out a different scene from "Little red riding hood" we then put all the scenes  together for our very own rendition of the play. We learnt that we had to work as a team, listen and follow instruction and have fun acting out this well known fable.
