This afternoon the Giraffes worked with the Year 5 children to develop their Scratch Jnr skills. Scratch Jnr is a programming app on the iPads which the children learnt to use last year. The Year 5 children did a fantastic job teaching the class how to make their characters speak, add more characters and to make characters disappear.

Next week the Year 5 children are going to set the class some challenges to complete.

Scratch Jnr is free to download on iPads from the App Store .

Estimating measurements, by Mrs Pratten

Date: 4th Jul 2016 @ 3:58pm

The Bears enjoyed using their estimating skills when comparing measurements. They had to use a ruler, choose something to measure and then estimate whether it would be bigger or smaller than their ruler. Then guess again how many rulers it would be eg half, three and then measure accurately. The Bears were brilliant and showed excellent measuring skills.

It took us a very long time and we were very proud. On Wednesday morning we came into class and found lots of areas that had been messed up. We all became police officers and investigated the mess. It took all morning and then we found out it had been the naughty bus.
