Online Safety at Longton

At Longton, we believe that Online Safety is about promoting the benefits to be gained from using technology safely, respectfully and responsibly whilst taking every reasonable precaution to reduce potential harm.

Through the implementations of an effective Online Safety policy, which has been reviewed in line of KCSIE 2021 documentation, we strive to establish safeguards and equip all members of our school community with the skills to manage risks carefully. We want our pupils to be are responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communication technology (ICT).

By the end of KS1, we want every pupil to:

Be able to use technology safely and respectfully, keeping personal information private; identify where to go for help and support when they have concerns about content or contact on the internet or other online technologies.

By the end of KS2, we want every pupil to:

Be able use technology safely, respectfully and responsibly; recognise acceptable/unacceptable behaviour; identify a range of ways to report concerns about content and contact.

The school Online Safety policy and associated policy and documents can be accessed below.

We also subscribe to National Online Safety website which delivers a fully comprehensive online safety programme for educators, parents and children.

Parents can register via this link https://nationalonlinesafety.com/enrol/longton-primary-school to access training and advice for themselves and their children.
