Year 5: The Pandas: Important Events
Iron Man Inspired Dance, by Mr Kennedy

The beginning of something special from the Pandas. We have begun our movements for our Iron Man inspired dance, using physical theatre to create inanimate objects with our bodies - next week, we will be working on adding an ensemble dance piece to our overall performance!

Exciting times at Longton this week as we were joined by the Mayor and Mayoress of South Ribble and special guests Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse and Elsa to celebrate 100 years of Disney and to complete this years Dance from the Heart.

A extremely successful Sports Day was held on the school field.
The weather was fantastic and the children all took part and enjoyed themselves.
We were joined by some of the Ribble Court Care Home Residents and they kindly donated water and fruit for every child.

A lovely event arranged by Linda and Anna from our school office for the mums of Longton.
Afternoon tea and songs from the school choir made a delightful treat for both children and their Mum's or Grandmas.

The children were served breakfast by the teachers and assistant teachers and Mrs Boyle.
All the children recieved a special present from the big man himself.

We were blessed with a sunny afternoon for our final achievement assembly. Mrs Brown and her Head's Team led procedures. All the Teachers and Assistant Teachers’ were awarded a smiley gold badge in recognition for their amazing commitment and hard work through a challenging year.
A special suprise was presented to Mrs Hothersall who is moving to a part-time post after 6 happy years of being our recpetion teacher. Good luck Mrs Hothersall on our next chapter in your life.

A strange Sports Day this year without parents, however the children of Longton Primary School excelled and had a fantstic time working as teams, being competative and enjoying indivdual running races.

Congratulations to all those who attained a progress certificate in church today.
Well done for those who were able to truly feel happy for those who received a certificate that is a hard quality to learn.
Much thanks goes to the heads team for putting the celebration together and for Thomas for being the best Longton Paparazzi ever!
Huge congratulations goes to Mrs Fletcher for becoming our Assistant headteacher and for Mrs Hothersall for undertaking the gruelling SENCO award at university and for being successful.
Thank you to all the adults who came along and made the occasion very special.
