The Penguins worked really well together to create their dream birds for the garden of dreams display. They had to make sure everybody's ideas were on the bird and then had fun painting and decorating. They look brilliant!
We had our last orienteering looking for markers around school and on the field (sorry for the muddy shoes). They were all really good at using the maps and working together to find the right markers.
This afternoon they enjoyed showing off their space buggies to Reception, Mrs Hathersall was very impressed with their knowledge and of courses their fabulous buggies.
We have earned lots of class compliments this week so well done Penguins, have a fab holiday and see you all soon.

Hothersall Lodge Info, by Miss Reynolds
Date: 2nd Feb 2018 @ 7:33am
Hello!
We had our Hothersall Lodge meeting on Wednesday and I've given it a few days to see if anyone had any extra suggestions/questions that might be worth sharing on here. So far there has only been the brilliant idea of packing your child with a binbag/plastic bag for wet/dirty clothes. Othere than that, everything else is on the kit list that went home with your child on Wednesday evening.
I thought it might just be useful to upload the powerpoint, a copy of the kit list and a copy of the medical form. With the medical form, can you please make sure that you fill out all the areas of the form, as some parents have missed the tetanus/polio immunisation question at the top of the second side.
Let me know if you think of anything that should be added to the kitlist/any questions you have!

Science forces, by Mrs Catterall
Date: 31st Jan 2018 @ 9:47am
Yesterday we explored all things forces. We went on a forces walk around school, we thought deeper using different skills of discussing - odd one out, true or false statements.
We had fun exploring friction. We picked up jelly cubes with straws, then added oil and had another go - it was really tricky.
Some groups began to explore different surfaces and how a car travels over them. It was so busy we only have a few photos but we promise to take more next time as we continue our exploration.
