World Book Day - winter Olympic themed, by Mrs Catterall
Date: 3rd Mar 2018 @ 4:32pm
We had some great costumes in the Bongo tribe. Well done everyone. During the day we shared books with each other and members of our families. We read the story of Snowman Paul and the Winter Olympics. We developed our co-ordinate understanding through creation of figures in Winter Olympic sporting poses.
In the afternoon we had to imagine Longton Primary School were taking part in the Bobsleigh event. We designed a Longton Primary School Bobsleigh as well as the outfit the competeters would wear. In groups we wrote about the preparations for the race, how it felt to be stood at the top waiting to take part as well as, once the race was over, waiting for the results.

Last weeks fun., by Mrs Catterall
Date: 26th Feb 2018 @ 6:51am
Last week was a busy first week back. We spent a lot of the week focusing on our new topic of the Stone Age.
We looked at 2 stories UG and The Stone Age Boy. We read in pairs, acted it out, wrote diary entries and discovered all about life in the Stone Age. We made our own paint brushes from sticks and other items outside, we made mud paint and then had a go at painting Stone Age animals with it all. It was very tricky as it was cold and windy, it made the experience all the more real.
I wonder what we will be discovering this week.
