Date: 23rd Nov 2018 @ 1:44pm
It has been another amazing week in the Bongo classroom. We have been particularly creative on Thursday and Friday.
To consolidate our learning about perimeter and area we created paintings in the style of Piet Mondrian. The first task was to draw out our squares and rectangles and then calculate the perimeter and area. Next the paintings were created.
We have been focussing on instructions in English and using the idea of George's aftershave in our book Desireable the children created potions that would give them superpowers. Potions made, ingredient lists written a great job was done using imperative verbs and time conjunctions to write first class instructions. They will be on display soon in a class book.
Today has been group work Friday , the children have worked in groups of 3 to complete a problem solving task calculating the perimeter needed for enclosing a range of dinosaurs. There was great group work and super mathematical discussions.
The rest of the day has seen us swallowed up in enthusiasm for WRITING 😀. Yes it is official the Bongos love writing and have thrown themselves whole heartedly into creating a range of Foodimal characters to use in a story . They are busy creating settings now.
