Skeleton, by Mrs Catterall

Date: 14th Jul 2019 @ 10:43pm

This week we have been learning about our skeletons.

We started off by drawing what we thought our skeleton would look like. We then had a pile of bones to place on our skeleton where we thought they would go. Finally we played a relay game looking at a skeleton with its bones in the right places and then running back to our skeleton and moving 1 bone at a time.  We discussed what our bones are like, what their purpose is and raised a few wonder questions.

Visiting Barden, by Mrs Fletcher

Date: 14th Jul 2019 @ 10:29am

The Bongos and some of their parents and grandparents had a wonderful time on Friday afternoon visiting Barden Primary School in Burnley.

We left school at 12 o’clock and arrived at our destination at 1 o’clock. The children delivered a joint presentation to our parents and the Barden parents about our work this year and sang two songs beautifully. Adults and children then all joined in an activity to write I am special because ..... on a piece of paper which we turned into a paper chain. It was then time for refreshments a buffet of the most wonderful food prepared by the Barden parents. The afternoon ended with a dance session to Go Noodle which saw all of our adults having a dance.

Thank you everyone for making it such a special afternoon.

A beautiful day in Longton, by Miss Reynolds

Date: 24th Jun 2019 @ 7:36pm

We had a great day with a couple of groups exploring Longton. We’re learning about the local history of our area to make a tourism video for Longton.  We also thought that, while we were at it, we could do our bit for the community and do some litter picking.

The highlight of the afternoon had to be having Robins come and feed from our hands in the Brickcroft! We felt like Disney princesses and princes! Thank you very much to the lady that shared her bird feeding secrets with us! We really loved it! Also thank you to Bill for stopping and sharing his knowledge about the Brickcroft with us! It’ll all make the promotional video for Longton!
