Multi-faith week, by Miss Reynolds

Date: 1st Apr 2019 @ 3:49pm

Last week we took part in multi faith week. We were a little later than the rest of the school because we’d been away enjoying Hothersall Lodge, but we soon caught up! We spent the week looking at religious clothing and what significance they have in those religions. We also looked at PeaceMala bracelets and discussed equality and discrimaination. We have created these 3D paper mashier faces portraying some of the religious people that we discussed throughout the week...we’re  really proud of them! Some children were even kind enough to be our very own religious experts and shared their own beliefs with us.

Time, by Mrs Fletcher

Time has flown by this week.. our maths topic has been time. We made out own clocks to shadow what we knew about time, we have looked at analogue and digital time, the calendar , learnt about 24 hour time and spent time explaining our answers to reasoning questions.

We have also spent time being historians , thinking about what the Romans did for us , discussing a whole host of things we were left with when the Romans left Britain. The discussions were outstanding as we all chose our 8 most important things and explained why we had chosen them.

Science- this week has been all about producers, consumers, prey and predators, habitats and food chains .

English- first person pronouns, words ending in cian, ssion, sion, tion. We have also done some work around the characters of Michael Morpurgo’s book Beowulf which is set in Viking Scandinavia.

Posters  and planning has been done for our enterprise and the Bongo Butty Bar will be open for business later on today.
