The children have really been enjoying our story this week There’s a lion in my cornflakes and it was voted our favourite story of the the 3 we have read so far. This week we written our own versions with free sea creatures instead and alll sort of things going wrong! The children had fun creating their own cereal boxes today , writing what sea creature was free, the name of the cereal and trying to use lots of adjectives. They look great! They will be coming home next week with a copy of the story in it.
A big thank you to Bobbys mum who has recycled old sweat shirts and PE tops to make a lovely blanket for us in our reading area. We love it!

A Great Day Out, by Mrs Fletcher
Date: 21st Jan 2019 @ 6:46pm
The Bongos have been linking with 4H from Barden Primary School in Burnley. They have spent today at Burnley Youth Theatre getting to know new friends and thinking about our similarities and differences. On arrival the two classes were split in half and sent to work with either Laura or Alice from the theatre. Lots of fun was had playing ice breaker games, the children then worked in pairs to find 3 differences and 3 similarities which would become part of the group working with Alice final performance. Next in larger groups they added the end to the sentence starters we dream, we hope we are. To round of the performance the children sang the opening of This is Me from The Greatest Showman.
At lunchtime the children were challenged to sit with people from each other’s schools and lots of chatting and laughter accompanied the packed lunches.
After lunch more games and rehearsals ready for the final performance. At around quarter to two we joined together to watch each groups work, the performances were brilliant.
Soon it was time to say goodbye , we exchanged work about each other and made our way back to our schools. it really has been a wonderful day meeting new friends. The Bongos have learnt a lot and really appreciated the fact that even though people can come from very different backgrounds there will be differences but there will also be lots of similarities such as enjoying football, having pets, being born in the UK.
Tom and Tristan, by Miss Reynolds
Date: 21st Jan 2019 @ 3:30pm
Last week we did an experiment on cress to see who could grow the tallest cress. One team did torch light only, another team did sugar water and a team did salt water. Some of the other things the teams did was maximise and minimise the amount of water. The one with the torch light is growing the tallest since its trying to reach the sun light. The salt and sugar water one is not growing any cress, some others also didn't grow at all.
