Art Week Day 1, by Mrs Fletcher

Date: 20th May 2024 @ 8:35pm

We began day 1 by creating coil pots- we learnt how to create bases for our pots and how to make the coils. We also looked at how the clay needs to be scored and made wet inorder for it to stick. After making a few layers of plain coils we added spheres, prisms and curved pieces of clay to depict the snow, ice and sea of our chosen continent Antarctica.

Next we became sculptors creating icebergs out of clay to be used in a piece of work about the impact climate change is having on Antarctica.

Poems, Poems, Poems!, by Mr Kennedy

Date: 24th Mar 2023 @ 9:48am

This week we have been putting a lot of focus on poetry, as it was world poetry day on Tuesday. We have explored List Poems and Kenning Poems and will be writing our own poem on Friday!

This children have also continued to develop on tennis skills in our 'skill rotation' lesson, whilst developing our serving techniques.

In science, the tribe explored the school to answer the question:

"Where is the quietest place in school?"

They children had to plan their investigation and decide how they can make it a fair test. Using data loggers, the children were able to record and present their results.

Great week tribe!

World Book Day, by Mrs Fletcher

Date: 3rd Mar 2022 @ 4:33pm

Thank you Year 6 for an amazing World Book Day . I have loved every minute of it and am so proud of uou all. Following the assembly we took some time to share the Christain parable of the Good Samaritan. Whilst listening to the story we thought about how we can be kind and helpful and later in the day have been working with Mrs Morrison to create some beautiful reflection work.

The bulk of our day involved working thriugh a project with MC Grammar. We have sorted books into the order in which they appeared in the song, thought about books we have enjoyed and then identifoed characters we could include in our own rap/songs. You all did an amazing job writing your own verses. We will get them typed up to share.

Thank you for being amazing

Mrs Fletcher

PS ( sorry) homework will be given out tomorrow. It will be on paper this week. As I am a day late handing it out please can I ask that your named work is handed in on Wednesday next week.

World Book Day 2020 science and space, by Mrs Masterson

Date: 6th Mar 2020 @ 11:21am

This world book day most people came in and science or space themed outfits to fit with our whole school year theme of moon landings.   We loved the fact that most people went with the principle of it is the thought that counts not the cost of the outfits - very eco!   Luckily, our school is very creative and we have seen some amazing ideas for the theme. Today we have also included another whole school write, starting in year six all the way to reception and seeing what wonderful story writing can be comprehended into it! At the end of the day we will have a big assembly and read through the excellent work we have created.
