Year 2 enjoyed a morning at Priory yesterday, taking part in a gymnastic and dance festival along with lots of other schools. They thoroughly enjoyed it and received a special certificate -The spirit of the games - very well done!

This afternoon the girls football team took part in the Lancashire girls football tournament.They all worked really well as a team and battled hard. We got though to the semi finals , 20 schools took part so this was a tremendous result.
Very proud of you all!, you are in the top 8 girls school football teams for the whole of Lancashire which is amazing๐!
A big thank you to parents who transported especially our top coach Ian๐

The past 3 weeks we have been attending school football matches representing our schools A team . There are two teams A@B so far we have played 6 games won 3 and lost 3 ๐ . We will also be playing after February for another 3 weeks because we will have our winter break .
The B team have been working hard and the team has been rotating every week. We have all enjoyed the games and kept going.

This afternoon we all went out to the front is school to celebrate our wonderful Peace Garden. Our friend Mr Turner from the Royal British Legion dedicated the garden to the fallen servicemen who sacrificed their lives for us in World War 1.

A massive well done to our cross country team who competed really well in the cross country tournament.It was hot, hot , hot but all tried their best and ran well,I think we agreed it was further than we thought!. A special mention to Nicholas who finished 6th overall out of 78 runners,well done to Sara too who was our highest placed girl finishing in the top 30, again out of 78. Top effort!

What a fabulous afternoon we had for our School Games sports day yesterday. The children all had a great afternoon taking part in the activity stations and then competing in the races. A big thank you to all the children ,spectators and staff for all helping to make it such an enjoyable afternoon. Well done to red team 2 for gaining the most individual team points and a big congratulatio

This week we participated in a football tournament in the finals at priory. Although we came second, we did really well and are very proud of our achievement. In other news, the Y5 rugby team did brilliantly and won the rugby tournament at Tarleton rugby club. Our school is really proud of what we did. A big well done to all!

Well done to the Year 3 and 4 tennis teams who took part on Wednesday in a tennis tournament at Sourh Ribble tennis centre. We had a mixed bag of results with some wins, draw and losses. They all said they had really enjoyed it and they showed a good competeitive streak and excellent team spirit. Well done again๐๐

Fair trade Assembly, by Mrs Catterall

Thank you to Mrs Greenlees who came into school last week to deliver an assembly all about Fairtrade. It was very informative. She talked about all the different foods that can be bought which are Fairtrade meaning that farmers are given a fair price for their products. Have a look in the shops for these products, they carry the logos that can be seen in the photos.
