The final 3 days In Year 4 have been very memorable. We have had a massive surprise as the ice-cream van has come and given us some ice lollies and ice-cream. We could have any ice lolly on ice cream under £1.20.
We enjoyed ourselves and most of us now have blue mouths so sorry about that parents! Parents Note: please make sure your child brushes his or her teeth thoroughly before going to bed. π π¦

Children should bring in at least 1 plastic bag if not more into school on Monday. We would also like board games in school that include a dice if your child is happy and we will try not to loose the pieces or damage them (Monopoly is a good choice).

Music Mania, by Mrs Catterall
Date: 12th Jul 2017 @ 6:58pm
The members of the choir from year 3 and 4 spent the day at Penwortham Girls High today. They were holding there very own Arts Week and had invited us to take part in Music Mania. The children had the opportunity to play either a steel drum or a drum known as a Djembe and compose a piece of music. During the day they also practised 2 songs which they had been learning in school with our very own Mrs Bolton and Mrs Little from Girls High.
At the end of the afternoon, parents arrived to watch their performances. We were also treated to an advance showing of songs and drama sketches from Girls High children.
It has been a fabulous day, the children behaved impeccably and were amazing. Well done.

This Week In Y4, we have enjoyed having Kaylie as she is leaving today and it's PJ day! We had a party for KaylieπΊ! Also, we had a VERY difficult maths challenge. It was a fidget spinner mystery. Mr Simpson dunked the Y5 fidget spinners in the bucket of paint and he left them to dry so the fidget spinners could not spin (This was a fake mystery and NO Y5 fidget spinners were harmed in the making of the puzzle!)

Takeover Day: Letter To Parents, by Mr Coxhead
Date: 5th Jul 2017 @ 11:38am
Below is a letter from Daniel and Matthew (our Year 6 pupils who have taken on the roles of Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher for the day):
Dear Parents,
Today Year 6 pupils have taken over teaching for the day as a reward they have earned. There are around 4 pupils teaching each class and have been given a timetable for the day.
Reception has been doing some amazing phonics work, music lessons too and all the teachers are doing a good job. Year 1 have enjoyed doing PE involving throwing and catching and for a treat, football. They also did guided reading work with the teachers helping each child. Year 2 have done some great science work finding out about bugs and have looked all over the bog garden to find some. Year 3 have started off today by doing some fantastic singing. They then did science, learning about flowers and purposes of them. Year 4 have been doing some math problem solving involving multiplication work, after that they work on GPS. Year 5 were doing spelling on suffixes and play rehearsal for their big performance night ahead of them.
Yours Sincerely, Mr Holmes (Deputy Head)
Mr Stillings (Head Teacher)

This Week In Year 4, we have been playing our violins yet again and our school concert is in 3 Weeks so we better get ready and practice! In maths we have been doing symmetry and messing with shapes. We've been cutting out triangals and making shapes with them. We tried to copy the exact shape on the other side and that was the tricky part! In English, we have had a proper debate about for or against zoos. Both sides (For And Against) had some good arguments in stock and the debate ended in a draw and under some circumstances, zoos were alowed in our world!
