Back to School.

What a fantastic summer of activity we have seen.  The Diamond Jubilee, The Euros, The Olympics, The Paralympics, LONGTON OLYMPICS and we have not even got to the Ryder Cup yet! I think we can all agree that apart from The Euros (and the cricket) we have really had a summer to be proud of; even the weather was good for the Olympics!TheOlympics were outstanding, the country became inspired and all the children had Olympic fever. We come back to school refreshed and raring to go with lots of new ideas to implement for the new academic year on Tuesday 4th September.  The Guild falls in this first week back.  In one way it is unfortunate because the children will be in school and miss so much of it but in another they will get an opportunity to learn a great deal about it.  We believe it is a great way for them to gain a sense of the community in which they are growing up.  Mixed with the importance of taking part along with being safe we are asking parents to take their children to Preston on this day instead of bringing them to school and for an adult to stay with them.  There are an estimated 8,500 people walking and 90 floats which was a surprise to the organisers as well as us.  The parade will last until approximately 1.30.  We thank you in anticipation for your support on this realising it is not ideal timing straight after the summer break.  More information about our starting point and the route will come out during the week – it will be around the large roundabout near the University.

See you all in the morning.
