Parent Involvement in Learning

A group of parents worked in school with staff to create a parents guide to reading. The guide can be found on the english subject page and in the list of folders on this page .

Our chosen MFL will be French. To launch the language a French themed Afternoon Tea was held where parents sampled some French foods and learnt about the MFL curriculm. They also took part in some French activities.

Grammar Punctuation and Spelling

A large number of parents took the opportunity to attend our GPS Night School sessions which ran over 3 weeks. During the sessions the parents were able to learn more about grammar and spelling through Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Parents were invited into school for a workshop on how to suport their child in mathematics. After an adult workshop in the morning, they paired up with their children in the afternoon for some fun maths quizes.

Parents said that it had been an informative day and the pupils enjoyed learning with their parents.

We hope to provide additional workshops in the future.
